DUTIES OF MEMBERS:
Before in water participation on an actual incident call, all divers must have completed the six (6) month probationary period and received a favorable recommendation of membership by the Safety & Training Committee and a favorable vote by the membership.
All active members must participate in four (4) practice dives per year to maintain their active membership. The calendar year of January 1 to December 31 shall be used to compute the four (4) dive requirement.
Structured training, such as individuals department training, seminars or dive conferences with bottom time will be accepted towards fifty (50) percent of the required dives. Proper dive logs are require to be turned into Safety & Training at the following monthly meeting to receive credit for these dives towards their annual requirement.
Any member who does not meet the dive requirements will be placed in non-diver status effective January 1st of the next year until the four (4) training dives required has been met.
Additional training dives will be accepted when a member request to Safety & Training with the option of availability.
Excuses for non-attendance may e granted by the Training Committee, President, Vice-President or Secretary only. Such excuses, no matter how many, shall cover only one (1) of the required dives.
